Brian and I have written loads of songs together. On It Just Is we co-wrote The Sunny One and Looking Through Your Eyes; on 16 Tambourines’ album Brian was involved in writing a couple of the songs also. We thought it was about time that we did an album together and so we have.
8 songs clocking in at just under 30 minutes, it also features drumming and percussion from the legendary Tony Macguigan who was with me and Brian in 16 Tambourines. His kids do some grand handclaps on it too.
Robbie Taylor of The Great Northwestern Hoboes makes a fine contribution on violin, banjo and mandolin. Al Richardson (who by the way is the master of the songs from Jungle Book) played us trumpet and did some finger picking 12 string. Billy Bones a rather strange and quiet character who we only see when we’re doing music plays piano.
Martyn Campbell is here in spirit. He was away playing with Richard Ashcroft at the time of recording but he’s on Your Papers Please playing bass, guitar and singing, which we should be making available very soon.

You can listen to the album here

We’re talking about gigs to promote it and hope to get it together soon….

StumbleUpon It!
