I’ve been sorting through things, it’s the New Year that does it I suppose. I’ve moved bits of scrap paper, photos, old magazines, books, cds, guitars, old compressors and other stuff from one side of my room to the other filling two black bin bags with complete junk as I went. The room still looks as full of junk, and as near as dammit it is, but in a different way.
I’ve got 15 songs demoed in a ruff form and I’m pondering recording them properly. Are albums old news now? Maybe I should record 3 or 4 at a time and do an Ep every few months. Yes, that’s what I’ll do. Probably.
Going through the songs, listening with Tony Mac, I came to the conclusion that I have 2 type of song: Happy, and Paranoid. Now I think I’m like that. I’m not am i? Am I?…….
Hoping to do a Bank of England gig in a month. It’s a benefit for Action Aid but I’ve not asked the band yet. It’s on 15th Feb near Blundellsands Station. A church hall I think. Will have to make sure..
Bought an iPod. It’s a Nano 2gb thing and is quite lovely. It works too. Currently listening to I_Robot audio book (Asimovs not the film), The Handsome Family, Icicle Works, Belle and Sebastian and lots I’m not sure of when it’s on shuffle. I’ll be wanting the iPhone next, I know it.
Finally finished the Captain Pop Tour Diary, at least my version of the tour. Some nice photos but after leaving it so long before completing it, I can’t remember many of the individual things that happened. Great it was, great music, great company and great fun. Great!
Bought new glasses today. I’ll show them off soon when I do the next little video song. Bet you can’t wait. Ho ho.
